Ora King salmon are farmed in one of the cleanest marine environments in the world. From the crystal-clear waters of the Te Waikoropupu Springs in Takaka, Golden Bay, to the majestic Marlborough Sounds. The integrity of this marine environment underpins all our farming practices. Ora King aquaculture facilities have achieved Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certification for environmentally and socially responsible production at the Marlborough Sounds Sea Farm facilities. King salmon are born in freshwater and spend most of their lives at sea before returning to freshwater to spawn. By replicating this natural life cycle in our farming operations, we ensure the utmost respect for the life cycle of this prized fish.
